Употребление a lot of/much/many

A lot of/lots of употребляется в утвердительных (affirmative) предложениях с исчисляемыми (countable) существительными во множественном числе (plural form) и с неисчисляемыми (uncountable) существительными:
Connie’s got a lot of/lots of friends. — У Конни много друзей.
There’s a lot of sugar in that bowl. — В сахарнице много сахара.
There’s a lot of juice in the fridge. — В холодильнике много сока.

Если после a lot не следует существительное, то тогда предлог of опускается:
Are there many robots in the lounge? Yes, there are a lot. — В гостиной много роботов? Да, много.

В обычной жизни вместо a lot в устной разговорной речи часто употребляется lots:
Lots of people get married these days. — Много людей женятся в наши дни.
The scroll has attracted lots of monsters. — Свиток привлёк много монстров.

Much и many обычно употребляются в вопросительных и отрицательных предложениях. С неисчисляемыми (uncountable) существительными используется much, с исчисляемыми (countable) существительными во множественном числе употребляется many:
Is there much water in the jar? — В банке много воды?
There isn’t much orange juice left. — Осталось мало апельсинового сока.
Have you got many houses? — У тебя много домов?
I haven’t got many houses. — У меня не много домов.

How much и how many употребляются в вопросительных предложениях. В вопросительных предложениях с неисчиляемыми (uncountable) существительными употребляется how much. В вопросительных предложениях с исчисляемыми (countable) существительными употребляется how many:
How much sugar do you take in your coffee? Just a spoonful. — Сколько сахара вы кладёте в кофе? Одну ложку.
How many achievements did you unlock? I unlocked fifty achievements. — Сколько достижений ты открыл? Я открыл пятьдесят.

Употребление few/a few/ little/a little

A few употребляется с исчисляемыми (countable) существительными:
I’ve got a few roses for you. — У меня есть для тебя несколько роз.

Обычно a few употребляется в положительном значении применительно к небольшой группе предметов или людей, как в примере выше. Few обычно употребляется в отрицательном значении и относится к количеству предметов и людей меньшему, чем ожидалось (в разговорной речи может употребляться not many):
Very few girls came to his party. — На его вечеринку пришло лишь несколько девочек.

A little употребляется с неисчисляемыми (uncountable) существительными:
Can I have a little milk in my tea? — Можно мне немного молока в чай?
We had a little food left. — У нас оставалось мало еды.
It took Connie a little time. — Это заняло у Конни немного времени.

A little означает некоторый, несколько и употребляется, когда нужно подчеркнуть, что количество чего-то небольшое, но больше, чем ожидалось:
We had a little gold so we took a Silt Strider. — У нас было немного денег, и мы поехали на Силт страйдере.
We still have a little time to finish it. — У нас всё ещё есть время, чтобы доделать это.

Little означает небольшое, недостаточное количество и употребляется, чтобы подчеркнуть, что хотелось бы больше:
There was little hope of finding some food. — Было мало шансов найти еды.
There has been little change since this morning. — Мало что изменилось с сегодняшнего утра.
